Relaunched STRIKE FIRST RECORDS Announces First Three Signings
October 3, 2008The newly relaunched Strike First Records has announced three new signings:
* HOPE FOR THE DYING from Jonesboro, Illinois. The band's self-titled full-length album will be released on November 25.
* THE GREAT COMMISSION is said to be "turning Southern California upside down" with its live show and in-your-face music and ministry. The band will enter the studio before the end of the year to record its full-length debut for an early 2009 release.
* THROUGH SOLACE is part of the Wales, UK hardcore scene and has released an EP on Holdfast Records. The band will release its full-length debut in early 2009. U.S. dates in support of the EP were recently announced.
Commented Strike First in a press release: "Although the look and roster is new, the goal is the same as it was before: to develop the next generation of heavy bands. In 2006, we decided to take a break on Strike First Records and re-focus our time and energy exclusively into the bands on Facedown Records roster. Well, after two years of down time, we've had plenty of time to think about re-launching Strike First and making it better than ever.
"With a new and refined focus on developing artists in this day and age, this new wave of Strike First releases will be available worldwide through iTunes and other digital distributors like Amazon MP3, Shockhound and more. However, we are not simply focusing on being a 'digital-only' label as all releases will also be available as limited-edition, environmentally friendly physical packaging that is free of plastic jewel cases. These physical copies of all the releases will be available online on the Facedown / Strike First store, as well as other select .com sites (interpunk, smartpunk, revhq.com, bestbuy.com, fye.com, etc.) and of course at all of the bands' shows."
